Within a single lifetime around 200 years ago, the speed of human communication went from the top speed of a galloping horse to being able to being able to send a message from London to Sydney and get a response in under 10 minutes. This talk looks at the telegraph system, the Victorian Internet and how its effects echos in our own time.
