They are so widely used and trusted because of their outstanding and unrivalled quality, reliability and portability. Whether you are using a single PC or a cluster of the world's largest supercomputers, NAG has the numerical software capabilities to suit your model.
To meet its customers' needs the NAG Libraries span many computing languages and platforms and are continually being upgraded to take advantage of the latest technologies - multi-processor PCs, for example. NAG's consultancy service offers its own expertise in developing software, coupled with world-leading knowledge of numerical computation. Customers, who can't develop their own application, need a specific solution, or just advice on how to get the best from the NAG Libraries.
NAG's software grew out of university mathematics departments, but industries and businesses all around the world have been using it for everything from space flights to agriculture. Simply defined as 'sophisticated number crunching' the software continues to evolve at a dramatic pace to meet the surge in complexity of mathematical problems in all walks of life from aircraft design to portfolio management.
NAG is continually working with the world's leading mathematical minds to improve the speed and accuracy of their software. Some procedures from the NAG libraries have reduced the time of calculations from days to seconds. This means that companies can work on 'real-time' data and make 'real-time' decisions.

Riverblade is a UK based Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and Micosoft Partner specialising in the development of tools for developers using the Microsoft Visual Studio integrated development environment.
Our primary product is Visual Lint - an add-in product for Microsoft Visual Studio and eMbedded Visual C++ which closely integrates the industry standard Gimpel PC-Lint C/C++ code analysis tool within the Visual Studio development environment.
Although PC-Lint does a great job of analysing source files for potential problems, it is a generic cross-platform tool and as such its integration within development environments is extremely limited. Visual Lint goes far beyond this by providing automated source code analysis and custom, easy to interpret analysis results displays.
Visual Lint supports Visual C++ 6.0, eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0, Visual Studio .NET 2002, Visual Studio .NET 2003, Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008, and is in use with developers and companies worldwide.
This is our second year at the ACCU conference, and the first time we have acted as a sponsor. For more information about Riverblade, please visit www.riverblade.co.uk. Alternatively, if you would like to see a demonstration of the product please ask one of our representatives at the conference.
Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation, helps software developers to create applications with tools built from Intel’s knowledge of hardware:
- Discover Intel’s high performance C++ Compiler with advanced multi-threaded support
- Deliver fast software on the latest 64-bit multi-core systems running Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows Server
- Locate performance bottlenecks without recompilation and with very low overhead
- Analyse the results using a graphical interface with strong Visual Studio integration
- Quickly drill down to the source to identify problematic lines of code
- Optimise your multi-core performance with the Intel Thread Profiler and - for a more complete performance tuning solution – also included with VTune™ Performance Analyzer

Oxford University Software Engineering Programme
The Software Engineering Programme teaches the principles of modern software engineering, together with the tools, methods, and techniques that support their application. It is a joint venture of the Computing Laboratory and the Department for Continuing Education at Oxford University. The Programme offers working professionals the opportunity to learn more about the technological advances that are changing their lives, through a course of part-time study at one of the world's leading universities.
The Programme is structured around intensive modular courses. Each involves five days of classes and practical sessions at our purpose- built teaching centre in the heart of Oxford, and is supported by reading material three weeks before the start of the teaching week, and an assignment to take home afterwards. All are designed for those with experience of the software development process: designers, programmers, managers, and informed customers.
The syllabus includes courses in 28 different subjects: from Requirements Engineering to Object-Oriented Programming, Security Principles to the Management of Risk and Quality. These subjects are organized into five themes: Object Technology, Software Architecture, Computer Security, Development Processes, and Formal Techniques.
Most subjects are offered at least twice a year, and any of them may be used as credit towards a postgraduate qualification: Postgraduate Certificates in Software Engineering, Object Technology, and Computer Security, and a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master of Science in Software Engineering.
