I think most programmers who enjoy reading will enjoy this book
This is not a programming book, but it is a book that I would encourage you to read. The way SETI has impacted on us is interesting. The use of home computers to process vast amounts of data as a collaborative effort has shown just how much latent power lies out there on the Internet. The ability to tap that power should be causing fear to those who believe that the sheer burden of resources required to crack some kinds of data security is sufficient protection.
While this book is ostensibly about SETI and the way that has developed over the last decade and a half, it is much more. I think most programmers who enjoy reading will enjoy this book. That is all I have space for in this review column.
