This book of 400 pages is 85% source code and 15% text. This is not acceptable in this day and age. The source is repeated on the enclosed disc. The meagre amount of text discusses OOP, reuse, patterns etc. So the actual amount of Java information is small. There is more Java information in the free evaluation Java CD from Sun. In fact the Sun Java kit and others, are free with many other Java books.

I cannot recommend this book.
